Central Iowa Underwater Search & Rescue
We are a professional volunteer search, rescue and recovery team based in Polk County, Iowa. We respond, at the request of law enforcement and public safety agencies, to incidents relating to underwater recovery, ice rescue and swift water rescue.
Training
CIUSR trains on a regular basis. We allocate the third Sunday of every month and sometimes additional weeknights to training. Training topics include:
- Public Safety Diver certification
- Incident Command System
- Line tender training
- Rope systems for swift water rescue
- Underwater search tactics

Public Safety Diving
CIUSR is responding to federal mandates to update training and gain recognized public safety diver training. We have completed ERDi (Emergency Response Diving) training as offered through Scuba Diving International (SDI). For more information check out the News page.
